Pull up a stool and let's talk about the magic that happens in my little home studio.

Here's a secret I tell every single artist who walks through my door: there is no such thing as a mistake here. Like Bob Ross says “Only happy accidents”. That smudge? That's character. That color that went rogue? That's art with a mind of its own. My studio is a place where wobbly lines are celebrated, "oops" turns into "ooh!", and creativity gets to run wild without anyone telling it to slow down.

Every class is intentionally designed to teach new techniques, build real artistic skills, and introduce students to mediums they may have never tried before — from painting and drawing to clay and mixed media. Artists leave each session having learned something concrete all while having fun. I want every student to walk away a little more skilled, a little more confident, and a little more fearless than when they walked in.

I like to think of my studio as a creative oasis — a cozy, paint-splattered escape from the everyday hustle, where weary hearts can wander in, exhale, and just make stuff. No judgment. No pressure. Just you, your imagination, and whatever colorful chaos wants to happen on the page today.

The official-sounding part

Okay, I do have to be a little “official” for a second: I'm a certified art educator with several years of teaching experience, and a working artist with a BFA from Sam Houston State University. My work has even found its way onto the walls of The Madeley Fine Art Gallery and Langley Art & Home (cue the happy dance).

These days, my studio is bursting with young creative minds ages 7–10 — a crew I absolutely adore, with their wonderfully fearless approach to art. (Calling all grown-up artists, though — I've got big plans to make room for you too, very soon!)

Why I do this

Because art shouldn't feel like a test you can fail. It should feel like a deep breath, a giggle, a "wait, I made that?!" kind of moment. My job isn't to make you paint perfectly — it's to help you fall in love with the process, mess and all.
