Studio Policies — Fall 2026 Semester
Welcome! I'm so glad your artist is joining me this semester. A few simple policies help my studio run smoothly and keep everyone — students, families, and our space — happy and cared for.
Semester & Attendance
Semester dates: August 25 – December 10, 2026 (15 weeks)
Studio closure: Closed the week of November 23–27 for Thanksgiving. All other classes run as scheduled.
Missed a class? Your child is welcome to join another time slot that same week instead, space permitting — at no extra charge. Since all time slots follow the same weekly lesson, your child won't miss a thing. Just let me know ahead of time, or as soon as you're able, so I can check availability.
Studio-side cancellations: If I ever have to cancel a class on my end (illness, weather, or another unplanned closure), your child is welcome to join another time slot that same week, space permitting. In the rare case that all sections must cancel for the week, I'll add a make-up week at the end of the semester rather than skip it. I'll always communicate closures as early as possible.
Enrollment & Payment
Tuition: $500 per semester ($450 tuition + $50 supply fee), split into four monthly payments for your convenience.
Payment Schedule: An initial payment of $162.50 (includes the $50 supply fee) is due at registration, followed by three payments of:
$112.50 due September 24
$112.50 due October 24
$112.50 due November 24
Supply fee: Covers all art materials for the full semester — nothing else to purchase.
Refunds & withdrawal: Tuition is fully refundable if you need to withdraw before the semester begins.
Once the semester has started, tuition is non-refundable, as your child's spot is reserved for the full 15 weeks and materials are purchased in advance — this includes any remaining monthly payments due for the semester.
Sibling Discount
Got more than one little artist at home? I love seeing siblings create side by side! Families enrolling multiple children save $20 in tuition for each additional sibling enrolled — the more little artists, the more you save! This discount is split evenly across your semester's monthly payments and applies to tuition only (the supply fee is not discounted).Reach out and I'll provide your sibling discount code to apply at enrollment!
Drop-Off & Pickup
This is a drop-off program — parents are welcome to drop off and pick up, but are not required to stay on-site during class.
Pickup: Please plan to pick up promptly at the end of class. I ask for pickup within 10 minutes of class ending. If you anticipate running late, a quick text or call lets me plan accordingly.
Drop-off: Please walk your child to the door rather than dropping off curbside, especially for my youngest artists.
What to Bring
A water bottle (optional)
Clothes that are okay to get a little paint, clay, or ink on!
A love of trying new things — that's really all I ask.
Studio Culture
My studio is built on one simple idea: there are no mistakes here, only the next step. I ask every family to support that spirit at home too — celebrating effort and creative risk-taking over "perfect" results.
I also ask that students treat the studio, materials, and each other with care and kindness. My small class sizes mean every student gets real attention — and a respectful, encouraging studio culture is what makes that possible.
Health & Safety
Your artist's safety is always my top priority. Please let me know about any allergies, sensitivities, or special considerations during registration so I can plan accordingly — whether that's related to art materials or anything else I should be aware of while your artist is in my care.
If your artist is feeling unwell (fever, contagious illness, etc.), please keep them home and let me know. I'll try to work with you on a makeup class in situations like this.
Photo & Media Release
At Bright Spot Art Lab, we love sharing the magic of creativity in action! To respect our students' privacy, any photos or videos shared on social media or our website will focus on little hands at work and the beautiful artwork being created—never a child's face. We want the art to shine as bright as the artists who made it!
As part of enrollment, you'll choose whether your child can be included in these process and artwork photos on our website and social media. You can update this preference at any time by reaching out — just let me know and I'll make sure it's reflected right away.
